Oil v gas heating

The falling crude oil prices have made oil-fueled heating systems cheaper than the cost of heating your home with natural gas. In one of the coldest weeks of 2015, we reported that fuel oil prices had risen by 35 cents in one week in mid-February, despite a further fall in the crude oil index price that week. Heating oil may not be the cheaper option as gas has traditionally been the most popular heating fuel for UK consumers, mostly because it has always been low-cost, but there has been a massive shift in prices in recent months and with oil prices so low right now, natural gas is no longer the cheaper option.
